Through Greenwave’s real-time monitoring and sustainability insights, the City of Moose Jaw reduced GHG emissions by 11% and eliminated water waste — showcasing Canadian innovation in action.

Moose Jaw reduces GHG emissions by 11% using Greenwave’s smart monitoring solutions.

The City of Moose Jaw is leading the way in municipal sustainability — and Greenwave Innovations is proud to be part of that success story.

As part of the city’s ambitious Climate Action Plan, Moose Jaw achieved an impressive 11.2% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2024 compared to its 2019 baseline, moving closer to its goal of a 20% reduction by 2025 and 45% by 2030.

This milestone was made possible through Greenwave’s Greensense Platform, which provides real-time sub-monitoring for electricity, gas, and water use. Greenwave’s technology now operates across 11 city-owned buildings, covering nearly half of Moose Jaw’s corporate emissions.

The results speak for themselves:

  • 496,000 kWh of electricity saved — the equivalent of powering 45 homes for a year.
  • Over $55,000 in energy cost savings in 2024 alone.
  • 12 water leaks detected and fixed, preventing 5.1 million litres of water waste — enough to fill two Olympic-sized swimming pools.
  • 12.2% reduction in municipal water loss, achieving the city’s goal of zero water waste in key facilities.

In addition to energy and water savings, Greenwave installed digital dashboards in major civic buildings like City Hall, Yara Centre, and Pla-Mor Palace, giving staff and residents real-time visibility into the city’s conservation progress.

“We’re proud to support communities like Moose Jaw in achieving measurable sustainability outcomes,” said the Greenwave team. “Our mission is simple — to help Canadians conserve energy, save water, and build a cleaner, smarter future together.”

As a proudly Canadian company, Greenwave works alongside municipalities, building operators, and organizations nationwide to drive energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact — proving that data-driven sustainability is good for both the planet and the economy.
