We envision a world where buildings operate perfectly
Our Story
By Dean Clark, Founder & CEO
Here I am with my longest-standing and brightest Greenwave engineer... my wife Terri.
As an engineer, I’ve always been passionate about utilizing data to find new ways to do things better. Greenwave was founded on this belief, setting forward a vision on how we could change the energy management industry.
As I started discussions with building owners and operators, it became apparent that facilities everywhere were likely wasting energy without realizing it. It made me wonder … what if we could utilize data to gain a true understanding of how well buildings are (or perhaps are not) operating and identify exactly where improvements could be made.
Greenwave began our journey as an energy management consulting company. We initially deployed third-party electrical sub-monitoring hardware and software throughout local buildings. While the strategy proved our theory that significant inefficiencies existed, we quickly realized that the tools we were using lacked the technical detail and sophisticated analytics needed to deliver the data-driven applications that we envisioned for our clients.
Our Greensense software platform was designed with the intention of drilling deeper into the data and doing more with it. We built a system that could accurately decipher a building’s electrical consumption for individual components and panels. With the addition of water and natural gas metering, we had a comprehensive and accurate understanding of utility costs and GHG emissions with equipment-level granularity. Our team of Energy Advisors could now identify previously undetected no-cost energy conservation opportunities while guiding our clients through accurate & trusted ROI-based capital retrofit recommendations.
We commit to staying true to our consulting roots by delivering personalized support and building trusted partnerships.
With this better and more comprehensive data, our vision and client expectations for more advanced energy management applications kept coming! We have now added performance-based maintenance strategies, real-time equipment health notifications, instant water and natural gas leak detection, enhancements to life-safety systems and digital engagement dashboards that allow our clients to “share their story!”
Staying true to our consulting roots, Greenwave is committed to delivering personalized support alongside our energy management platform. We’ve heard from our clients that this continuous guidance has created trusted partnerships that set us apart from other providers. We promise to provide every client with only the same solutions and services that we would also recommend to our close friends and family.
On a personal note, I'd like to extend a sincere thank you to my co-founders, fellow shareholders, strategic partners, current and past employees, and most importantly to our early clients for believing in us. To our new clients... thank you for coming onboard and joining the “Green Wave”!
